The company indicated that, as a long-term partnership, the Moonbeam and Subscan teams will work together to add advanced EVM functionality to the block explorer over time, which will benefit users of Moonbeam and any other Frontier-based parachute, in Polkadot and Kusama.

“The Moonbeam smart contract platform is a substrate-based parachain in the Polkadot ecosystem, but it includes many Ethereum compatibility features that are quite different from a ready-to-use substrate implementation. This has many advantages for Moonbeam users and developers, who can use standard Ethereum account formats and tools to develop decentralized applications. But Ethereum-based tools cannot provide visibility into the native functionality of the substrate, such as voting in referenda and betting with classifiers”, he explained through an article shared on his website.

In his view, with the increase in developer activity on Moonbeam, a need arose for a block explorer that could display a combination of Ethereum-based data and substrates.

According to Moonbeam, through this partnership with Subscan, developers and users will gain a more detailed view of what is happening on the network, including block production, transfers, extrinsics, and other substrate-specific information related to staking and laying. governance. In the long term, the Moonbeam and Subscan teams will work together to deepen support for EVM-compatible features like Moonbeam.

“Excellent developer tools and resources are critical to the growth of the Moonbeam network, and we are pleased to work with Subscan to create a unique and robust block explorer for our users”, said Francisco Javier Agosti, Director of Markets and Partnerships at Moonbeam. While adding that “it is important to us as we work to offer the most complete set of tools possible for developers and projects that are based on Moonbeam”.

About Moonbeam Network

It is an Ethereum compatible smart contract platform on the Polkadot network that makes it easy to create interoperable applications natively. This Ethereum support allows developers to implement existing Solidity smart contracts and DApp frontends on Moonbeam with minimal changes. As a parachain on the Polkadot network, Moonbeam will benefit from the shared security of the Polkadot relay chain and from integrations with other chains that are connected to Polkadot. Currently in active development by PureStake, Moonbeam is expected to hit MainNet in mid-2021.

About SubScan

It is a high precision multi-chain explorer built for substrate-based blockchains. SubScan supports data exploration and visualization from more than a dozen networks in the Polkadot ecosystem.
